Metrojet Engineering Clark opens a new hangar

Metrojet Engineering Clark in the Philippines has inaugurated its new 7,100 square meter (76,424 square foot) hangar with its first Bombardier Global 7500 for hangar parking service, the Metrojet Limited subsidiary announced. The hangar at Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in the Clark Freeport area can accommodate up to 10 long-haul business jets, including Boeing Business Jets and Airbus Corporate Jets.

“Travel and quarantine restrictions continue to have some impact on flight activities in the APAC region,” said Sarith Vaikuntan, managing director of Metrojet Clark. “Many planes have been inactive, waiting for quarantine restrictions to be relaxed. With the business jet maintenance bubble in place, MEC is here to serve and provide these ground planes with an alternative to the limitations of Hong Kong and North Asia with hangar parking space.

Behind the new hangar is a 2,500 m² two-storey annex with offices and shops as well as space available for a dedicated FBO. An 11,000 m² deck and private traffic lane complete the new Metrojet facility designed to meet current Filipino codes with typhoon and earthquake resistance characteristics.

MetroJet Clark is a fully licensed repair station with Philippine Civil Aviation Authority and FAA approvals to provide heavy and line maintenance capabilities in the Asia Pacific region.
