Bristol Airport jobs: some of the 150 vacancies ahead of today’s job fair

It is impossible to escape the fact that the aviation industry is currently facing a shortage of personnel. The airport chaos has been making headlines all week.

Bristol Airport is no exception and is on a massive recruitment drive to ensure it has enough people this summer. But you don’t need to be a pilot or crew member to work there, and you might be surprised to find out what kind of jobs are on offer.

A job fair today (Thursday, June 9) is intended to show the diversity of jobs on offer. There are around 150 permanent and seasonal positions and recruiters say there is something for everyone, whatever your skills and experience.

Vacancies range from valets to managers and even working at Burger King. The variety of contracts and salaries covers everything from part-time and seasonal work to permanent jobs. Salaries start from around £11, but there are also jobs with big salaries.

Airport staff benefit from subsidized travel on the Airport Flyer bus services operating between Weston-super-Mare and Bristol and reduced fares apply when traveling on the Bath bus service.

Jobs are with the airport or with their partners which include Superdrug, OCS Group, Hilton, DHL, Swissport, ICTS, Global Exchange, InMotion, Bagport, Europcar, Superdrug and Burger King.

The Bristol Airport Recruitment Fair takes place between 11am and 2pm today at Lulsgate House, Bristol Airport. You can register on the website and the airport tells you: “This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the different roles on offer, take part in a quick interview with our fellow business partners and get practical advice and tips on your CV.”

Those who register can take the Bristol A1 Flyer and the Weston A3 Flyer free of charge. The A1 runs from Bristol Coach Station to the airport. It also runs through the center and Temple Meads station and the A3 runs from Weston station via Worle and Congresbury. A shuttle bus from stand 20 will take you to the door of Lulsgate House.

Free parking is available for those attending the job fair. Exit the A38 at Silver Zone to the signposted staff car park. Or follow the BS48 3DW postcode and signs for the recruitment fair car park
