Birmingham Airport Jobs – these are the positions that are currently open


Birmingham’s bustling airport handles millions of passengers every year – and a large team of over 6,000 is needed to help people get to their destinations.

On top of that, there are a number of vacancies available with onsite employers from the airport, from WH Smith, Accessorize and even the favorite pub JD Ifspoon.

Here are a few of those available in Solihull that can be requested in time for the holiday season.

Passenger services operator

Birmingham Airport can serve over 140 destinations via 52 airlines and is the UK’s third largest air hub.

But for that, he needs agents to keep everything moving.

Responsibilities range from focusing on operational safety and health and safety assistance to customer support and assistance with hazard identification and risk management.

Faced with so many passengers on a gigantic site, a lot of technology is needed.

Birmingham Airport is also looking for an IT Support Engineer to assist its Network Infrastructure Manager,

The work will include supporting the airport’s infrastructure, applications, data, voice and video networks, and operational systems, while assisting in the recharging of services to third parties.

This role will require shift work to ensure the position is covered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Head of Data Privacy and Governance

This one looks a bit more technical. The Data Privacy and Governance Officer will report to the Information Security Officer and provide advice on all privacy related matters within the company.

Applicants will need at least one year of work experience in a privacy role.

According to the job posting, the candidate “will have a passion and enthusiasm for privacy and will be keen to establish a strong culture of privacy throughout the organization through advocacy, encouragement, support and collaboration ”.

Luggage Maintenance Engineer

This highly skilled role involves everything related to baggage.

Following major investments, Birmingham Airport has declared that it needs a team of baggage maintenance engineers to ensure the provision of “a safe, reliable, efficient and cost effective baggage maintenance service”.

The candidate should be prepared to use brand new equipment and existing technology.

Aviation security officer

Birmingham Airport security officers perform aviation security duties to keep everyone safe.

“This role reflects the exceptional customer service skills required to ensure that passengers, staff and crew have a safe, secure and efficient passage in an efficient and friendly environment,” the announcement said.

The Bakery is looking for a number of Store Supervisors on various contracts to help feed customers as they board their flights and meet their loved ones.

The salary is £ 9.74 an hour paid weekly and they are looking for people with experience in a customer focused retail environment.

Store Supervisor / Assistant at Accessorize

Accessorize located at Birmingham Airport is recruiting for Store assistants, with tasks involving cash management, customer service and stock replenishment.

Applicants should be flexible and able to work shifts at different times. A first experience in the retail trade is an advantage but not essential because training will be provided.

The store also wants a supervisor take care of his assistants. Applicants will work a 32 hour week and must be flexible.

WHSmith is another Birmingham Airport based employer looking for staff.

Retail assistants will need to be customer-focused, have excellent communication skills, be well-organized, reliable, and provide exceptional service every time to improve the shopping experience for customers.

Previous experience is not essential as training will be provided, says WHSmith.

Birmingham Airport’s Frankie & Benny’s restaurant has several roles.

The ad says she currently needs a general manager, chef, bartender and waiter.

However, flexibility in hours is required, as shifts at the airport can start at 3 a.m. You will also need to be able to provide a 5 year work, education and personal reference history and undertake a criminal record check.

Kitchen staff at JD Wetherspoon

And, finally, to conclude our roundup of some of the vacancies at Birmingham Airport, the JD Wetherspoon pub chain is hiring kitchen staff – and no previous experience is required.

Both full-time and part-time roles are up for grabs and the pay is £ 10.45 per hour plus an additional £ 1.00 for each hour worked from midnight to 6 a.m.

Successful applicants will even receive a free meal and drink when working a shift of four and a half hours or more.
