Communication from the Commission on impact assessment

In this Communication the Commission establishes a new integrated method for impact assessment, as was agreed at the Göteborg and Laeken European Councils. Impact Assessment is an action of the Better Regulation Action Plan and of the European Strategy for Sustainable Development. It contributes to an effective and efficient Regulatory Environment and, with regard to the economic, social and environmental dimension of Sustainable Development, to a more coherent preparation of EU decision-making.
